Anyone can learn to tell a story that moves people. We teach a way of communicating that respects your audience, starts with what you believe, and treats your supporters as people, not targets.

One curriculum. Two parts.

Part one helps build confidence and identify core beliefs. Part two gives practical guidance on how to operationalize the message.

Part 1: Messaging and storytelling

  • Audience Mapping: how to see the world from your people's point of view.
  • Your Core Belief: how to say what is at stake in one strong sentence.

Part 2: Communications in the age of AI

  • An honest look at the pros and cons of AI tools in communications work.
  • Where AI can help a small team, and where a human voice matters most.
  • Practical first steps for those ready to dip their toes in.

Virtual session

Bring SYT to your team without leaving your desk. We meet you on video and work through the curriculum with your questions and your materials. You keep the recording, so the learning stays with your team.

  2. We shape the sessions. We tailor examples to your organization.
  3. We meet on video. Two four-hour blocks, live and interactive, with real examples, breaks and time to practice.
  4. You keep the tools. You get the recording and a short follow-up email with your next steps.

Format: The curriculum, live on video, delivered in two four-hour blocks. Investment: $1,500 per organization. Includes: A recording of the session. Who joins: Your staff and, if you like, board members and key volunteers.

Community workshop

We organize in-person trainings in cities where communications professionals want to lead with their values and speak their truth. These days are for learning and for building community with peers who are leading mission driven work in your community.

If you'd like us to bring a workshop to your city, tell us. We'll look at organizing a session that trains your people and connects them with others nearby.

  1. You request a workshop. A short form tells us your city and who should come.
  2. We plan the day. We pick a date and venue and invite local peers.
  3. We spend the day together. One full day, in person, with time to practice and connect.
  4. Keep going. A follow-up email with your notes and next steps.

Investment: $500 per person. Breakfast and lunch included when we run an in-person session.
