The key to knowing what to say starts with finding the courage to speak your truth.
Most communications advice starts with the channel: which platform, how often, what format. We start somewhere else. We start with what you believe and who you are trying to reach.
Great campaigns run on a core belief: one strong sentence about the world as it is and the world it could be. When everything you say and do carries that belief, your people recognize you, and they know how to help.
There's no right thing to say, perfect way to say it, or preferred channel. There's only the truth you carry in your heart and the opportunity to find your people.
We think good communications come from good relationships. When you lead from your beliefs, you stop chasing trends and start attracting people who share your vision. They do not need to be persuaded. They need to be invited.
We call that resonating over persuading. It means respecting your audience's freedom to choose, and choosing connection and inspiration over manipulation and gimmicks.
The same is true of planning. We do not hand you a thick binder. We help you tell a story, find your people, set one goal everyone can see, and build the habits that carry the plan out.
Every movement needs three things
- A story. A shared account of who we are and the future we believe in.
- Authentic relationships. People who believe that story and know each other.
- Something to do. Everyone, from top to bottom, knows how they can help.

What we hold dear
- People first. Strategy starts and ends with people. We put people above all else.
- Lead from your beliefs. Courage over copying. Say what you believe, not what the algorithm rewards.
- Resonate over persuade. We invite. We do not manipulate.
- Authentic relationships. There is no movement without them.
- Love is the bar. We look for the people who love your work, because they give their time and gifts willingly.
- Open, hopeful and fun. Planning should feel like possibility. Laughter is welcome.
- Justice and inclusion. We work with leaders dreaming up ways to use their values to build a more just and equitable world.
Speak your truth to start your movement, and keep it running.
This is the process we believe helps leaders grow their organizations and reach their goals. Speak your truth sits in the middle. Around it turn three activities: Identify your people, Nurture Your People and Activate Your People. Organizations are always doing these three things, whether they plan to or not. When you do them on purpose, they produce the movements you want to inspire.
Activate Your People: find meaningful work for all of your people, from the simple to the grandiose. Movements require multiple ways for advocates to participate.
Identify your people: the people who believe in your movement and share your vision for the future.
Nurture Your People: share inspiring content and create opportunities for meaningful connections from top to bottom, and from inside to out.
Speak Your Truth to start your movement and keep it running.
Not a sequence. A process that never finishes.
The gears have no first step and no last one. You never finish identifying your people, because new people keep showing up. You never finish nurturing, because relationships need tending. You never finish activating, because every person needs meaningful work. Each gear moves the others. When one slows down, the rest feel it.
What you do, and what it makes
The activities are what you do every day. The outcomes are what they create.
| Gear | The activity | The outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Identify your people | Find the people who believe in your movement and share your vision for the future. | A base of supporters that keeps growing. |
| Nurture Your People | Share inspiring content and create meaningful connections, from top to bottom and from inside to out. | Trust, belonging and people who stay. |
| Activate Your People | Find meaningful work for everyone, from the simple to the grandiose. | A movement where people do the work together. |
Where each service helps you turn the gears
Our services help you turn each gear intentionally. No matter where you start, every engagement begins with identifying your truth and finding the courage to speak it.
| Service | Movement Gears | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| Develop | Nurture | Your team builds the skills to share inspiring content and create meaningful connections. |
| Assess | Identify and Nurture your people | We find who believes in your movement, and check that what you say keeps them close. |
| Strategize | Identify, Nurture, and Activate your people | Four steps (Reflect, Plan, Activate and Live) that turn every gear, with meaningful work for every person, in a plan your whole team owns. SYT guides the first three. You live the final step on your own. |
Ready to speak your truth?
However you start, we would love to hear what you believe, and who you are trying to reach.
